Privacy Policy

Dear Visitors of Photoblog Duoplicity,

to be able to provide the best user experience for you, it’s necessary to place cookies on your device.

If you use this homepage I assume you’re OK with this!

On this Photoblog, I’m unable to provide you a “Cookie-free” user experience that is nearly as pleasant as it is with cookies being placed.

Quick Overview:

  • With “Matomo” installed, I collect anonymized statistics about your visit(s), which page(s) you click and how long you stay on them.
  • I do not share the anonymized data with any 3rd parties.

If you’re interested in more details, just read on.

What’s it about

The website address is: http://duoplicity.eu.

The following information about your privacy accords to this domain.

What personal data is collected and why?

Contact forms

If you submit a message via the Contact form, the following Data is saved:

  • Your submitted Name
  • Your submitted E-Mail
  • Your IP-Address and the date you submitted

And why? Unfortunately, there is a lot of abuse of Contact forms. For example spamming etc. Thats why not only your message and your name is saved but also your IP.

Cookies

Like you saw on your first visit, if you visit this website, some cookies are saved on your computer.

On the one hand, one by the Host for protection from some Hacking-attempts. Also, the CMS on this website is going to make a cookie for you to be able to identificate you via an ID. On the other hand, ‘Matomo’ – a analytics and tracking software sets a cookie, also to be able to reidentify you / your machine. More about this you can read in the ‘Analytics’-Section downwards.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

For now, I’m trying to not embed anything here and host all on my own. But as you’re reading this, it may be interesting for you that that’s the case if you see an embedded video from Youtube etc on a page.

Analytics / Transparency

What data is collected?

If you visit this website, the following data is collected from you:

  • Your IP-Address (anonymized to xxx.xxx.xxx.0)
  • The resolution of your screen
  • Your operating system
  • Your Browser
  • The date&time you visited
  • How long you stayed on which site

If everything is combined, I can see this for example:

Example for Matomo Data Collection

With whom your data is shared with

With nobody.

I decided to use a self-hosted ‘Web analysis’-software and not to use for example Google Analytics.

All the collected data is anonymized automatically by the software and is afterwards only stored locally.

What rights you have over your data

First, you can easily ‘opt-out’ of the data collection. On the one hand, the system respects the ‘Do-not-track’-setting of your browser (if set). On the other hand, you have the possibility to ‘opt-out’ for this whole Photoblog here:

>Link< (opens in new page)

What you also can do, is to read out your very own ‘Visitor ID’ in your Cookies from your Browser. If you sent this to me, you can view in all the data that belongs to this ID and also can ask for erasure of some of it or everything.

Otherwise, I’m unable to identify your exact data. The IP address is stored anonymized and that’s the only way to identify reliable. The other data are just ‘indications’ and because of you have the right over your data and not over others – it’s impossible for me to delete or let you view in your exact data without your ‘Visitor ID’.

Where your data is sent to

Nowhere and to nobody else.
